BEHIND THE SCENES

Black and white photo of a cluttered desk with laptops and a lamp.

Where it all happens  —  alone, at night, when no one can hear me 'scream' writing.

Where do my stories start? Lightning strikes, ideas ignite... sort of.

Contest & Festival Recognition

Storytelling Approach

My screenwriting work continues to grow through stories rooted in honesty, emotional depth, and character‑driven conflict. Both my feature and short screenplays have earned recognition in multiple competitions, reflecting a commitment to grounded, human storytelling across drama, dark comedy, and relationship‑centered narratives. I’m always open to meaningful collaborations with writers and filmmakers who value authenticity, nuance, and strong character craft.

Hurrah for What We Leave Unsaid

The feature screenplay picked up some encouraging momentum.  The script was recently named a Quarter‑Finalist in the Palm Springs Diversity Screenplay Contest — a welcome recognition from a competition committed to championing inclusive storytelling. It also landed as a Semi‑Finalist in the Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards, adding another steady step forward in its 2026 contest season. These placements have been meaningful markers as the drama continues to find its way across festivals and competitions. And, earlier this spring, the screenplay was a Finalist in the May 2026 Wiki Fastest Screenplay Contest.

Some Good News for Ted

Six Degrees of Ted has had a little momentum this summer, too, and it’s been fun to watch. The script slipped into the Quarterfinals of the Outstanding Screenplays Shorts Competition — a welcome bit of encouragement for this oddball, dark‑comedic short. It also received a Finalist nod from the judges at the June 2026 Wiki Screenplay Contest and is a Semi‑Finalist in the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival Screenplay Competition — a major honor and a meaningful step forward. Ted is still in consideration at the Oregon Short Film Festival — a natural home for his particular blend of chaos, heart, and everyday misfires.
